Editorial Standards & About Our Review Process
Last updated: April 26, 2026
This page explains exactly how we research, fact-check, and publish supplement reviews at trycitrusburnn.com — including our editorial independence, our funding model, our citation standards, and how we handle conflicts of interest. We publish this because readers of YMYL ("Your Money or Your Life") health content deserve to know who is writing the review and why they should trust it.
About the Author
Our Review Methodology
Every supplement review on this site goes through the same six-step process before publication:
Each disclosed ingredient is searched against PubMed, the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, and FDA databases. We document what the peer-reviewed literature actually says — including null results and conflicting findings.
We evaluate whether the proposed mechanism (e.g. thermogenesis, blood-sugar support, appetite regulation) is plausible, plus what dose range the research used vs. what the supplement actually provides.
Known interactions with prescription medications and contraindications (pregnancy, nursing, age <18, chronic conditions) are documented from authoritative sources (Memorial Sloan Kettering, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, FDA prescribing information).
We verify whether the manufacturer discloses formulation details, third-party testing, manufacturing facility (GMP-certified, FDA-registered), and refund terms.
Where independent review aggregators or merchant verified-purchase reviews are available, we summarise the buyer-reported pattern — both positive and negative — without cherry-picking.
We publish a clear, qualified verdict including who the product is and is not appropriate for. We do not write reviews to flatter manufacturers and we do not delete or rewrite reviews after publication unless we discover a factual error.
Citation Standards
For every health claim, we link directly to the primary source. We prioritise these tiers in order:
- Tier 1 — peer-reviewed research: PubMed (NIH National Library of Medicine), Cochrane systematic reviews, FDA prescribing information.
- Tier 2 — academic medical centers: Memorial Sloan Kettering, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Medical School, NIH National Institute on Aging.
- Tier 3 — government health agencies: FDA, CDC, NIH Office of Dietary Supplements.
- What we do not cite: blog posts, content-mill articles, manufacturer marketing copy, or aggregated "review" sites without primary research.
Editorial Independence and Funding
This site earns money through affiliate commissions. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, the merchant pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. This funding model does not influence our reviews. Specifically:
- The CitrusBurn manufacturer has not paid us for editorial coverage, has not seen this review before publication, and has no editorial review or approval rights.
- We have not been asked to remove or soften negative coverage. We will publish negative findings if our research surfaces them.
- We do not write reviews of products we have not been able to research independently from primary sources.
- We do not fabricate testimonials, ratings, or "before and after" claims.
- We do not use fake urgency timers, fake stock counters, or other manipulative conversion tactics.
For the full FTC-compliant funding disclosure, see our Affiliate Disclosure.
Corrections Policy
If we discover a factual error in a published review, we will:
- Fix the error in the article.
- Add a "Corrections" note at the bottom of the affected page describing what was changed and why.
- Update the dateModified meta tag and JSON-LD schema so search engines and readers can see the article was revised.
- Reach out via the contact form if a reader brought the error to our attention.
What We Cannot Help With
We are an independent review site, not a healthcare provider, retailer, or fulfilment partner. We cannot:
- Provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any supplement, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, under 18, taking prescription medication, or managing a diagnosed medical condition.
- Process orders, refunds, returns, or shipping inquiries. Those go to the merchant or to ClickBank (the retailer of record).
- Diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The FDA has not evaluated statements on this site (see Disclaimer).
